Jazz Band

The Ponderosa High School Jazz Band is ideal for those interested in studying Big Band Swing, Funk, Rock, Latin Jazz, Fusion, and other exciting modern styles. Students will learn how to improvise solos, arrange songs, and communicate with other musicians. Jazz Band will play at several performances and festivals throughout the year, like the Mile High Jazz Festival, UNC Greeley Jazz Festival, and the Legends Jazz Festival.

Students are highly recommended to be enrolled in Symphonic Band in addition to Jazz Band. Once enrolled, chair placement auditions will take place in November. For any questions, please contact Mr. Merrill.
